Conceptualized graphic identity developed and illustrated for the “Festival of Merengue 2012” (Merengue Festival 2012), carried out by the cultural branch of the Venezuelan state-owned oil and natural gas company , PDVSA La Estancia. The logo and the illustration are inspired conceptually by the dance that emerges from this musical genre and its different styles, just as the illustrative style it is inspired by cubists expression, accentuating the curves in order to generate the dance own movement. The typographic area was inspired by the style of retro neon announcements used in night clubs.
